Executives and employees of 8990 Holdings, Inc. and its subsidiaries pooled resources to help with the immediate needs of their colleagues in Cebu in the aftermath of Typhoon Odette.
Chief Operating Officer Alexander Ace Sotto gave financial assistance from his own pocket to all Cebu employees.
From the Mandaluyong office, employees sent bags of goodies to those in the Cebu office using the food budget for their virtual Christmas party and the counterpart donation from Chief Financial Officer Roan Torregoza and her family.

A category 4 hurricane, Typhoon Odette wreaked havoc in Cebu and other parts of Visayas and Mindanao, damaging and destroying houses, uprooting trees, and felling power posts. With power still out in many areas of Cebu, basic needs like food and water were hard to come by immediately after the typhoon and in the days that followed.
To help with the scarcity of essentials, the company branches in Iloilo and Bacolod sent over drinking water. Pilipinas Water, a subsidiary of 8990, also gave potable water.
Those from the National Capital Region 1 Branch sent power banks and messages of hope.
